Mike McCue, CEO of recently-acquired-by-Microsoft Tellme, says that the reason why Tellme works on Blackberry and not Windows Mobile is that primarily Tellme was in development when Microsoft acquired it, and since Blackberry has better support for Java, it made sense to develop tell me for Blackberry first.
So what does Tellme do??
It lets you search local directory entries, based on your GPS location by just talking to the app. Like if you say "coffee" or "Starbucks," phone's screen displays the closest matches to you, based on your GPS location. Options include calling the searched location, mapping it, getting directions, or sharing the link with someone else.

This armored suit called the Trojan has withstood knives, bullets, light explosives, clubs, and even a round from an elephant gun, it sounds like quite the winner. Proclaimed to be the "first ballistic, full exoskeleton body suit of armor," Trojan is crafted from high-impact plastic lined with ceramic bullet protection over ballistic foam, and features nearly endless compartments, morphine / salt containers, knife and gun holsters, emergency lights, a built-in recording device, pepper spray, ingestible transponder for those "last resort" scenarios, and there's even a fresh air system powered by solar panels within the helmet. Mr. Hurtubise claims the 18 kilograms (40 pounds) suit is comfortable enough to make road trips in (yes, he tried it), and if any major military would take him up on it, they could reportedly be produced for "around $2,000 apiece." Epoq, which has already had a video watch on the market for some time, has developed what is believed to be the first wristwatch running Windows Mobile 5. Its EGP-WP98B claims to have an OLED touchscreen, 1.28GB of memory, Wi-Fi networking, Bluetooth, VoIP support, and--get this--handwriting recognition. And a faux alligator wristband, of course. Alvin Toffler's prediction of a throw away society is here to stay. Hop-on, Inc. of USA announced today that its low end GSM cell phone with no LCD screen was a big success during CTIA meetings in Las Vegas, resulting in an initial test purchase order of 10,000 phones fro Europe markets.
Peter Michaels, President of Hop-on stated, "During our meetings with distributors in Vegas the response to our simple, inexpensive, $20 phone was phenomenal. The initial test purchase order with multiple purchase orders behind it is a big step in introducing Hop-on to Europe."Read on here

Last year, Apple had raised a few eyebrows when it launched a beta version of its Safari internet browser for the Windows platform. The browser was considered to be one of the best in the world but had previously been available only on the Mac OS platform.
What Safari brought to the table was a very cool interface and well, a very decent dose of speed. There were some murmurs about its stability, but then it was supposed to be a beta.

Mumbai based Micro Technologies Ltd has made announcement about the launching of India’s first laptop tracking system, which will locate stolen laptop computers.
The newly launched software known as “Micro LNTS” (Lost Notebook Tracking System) can be installed on notebook hard drives where it subsequently works in stealth mode.
In case of theft, it permits systems to be tracked as soon as they are connected to the World Wide Wed (WWW). The users can log into their Web-based personal tracking and monitoring page via www.microlnts.net in order to trace from where the laptop has been accessed. Read on here
